Horror/Sci-fi short film - directed by Davy Perez

A young man and his soon-to-be fiancé go to the woods for a romantic weekend. Unfortunately, their weekend is interrupted, and not just by his fiancé's best friend and her "lame dude."

I love horror and I love sci-fi, so it was a pleasure to work on this short film because it's both! Our main character is experiencing many problems that might (or might not!) be all in his head. To represent this piercing doubt in the score, we used a bowed marimba, which has a very shrill, crystalline quality. It's always fun to use extended technique on traditional instruments to get special musical effects like this.
